Sprint: Short Armor: Heavy
When you play the assault class, you are charged first and foremost with taking out the enemy's infantry. You have heavy armor and a grenade launcher, but no way to heal or resupply your teammates. In other words, you should be the first into combat and the last out. Work with a squad, for both you and they will benefit. You will get kills and keep getting them with support from your team. Your rifle should be your primary weapon. The assault rifle is good for both providing covering fire and taking out the enemy. The assault class is at home in the thick of a firefight.
A common misconception is that the assault class is good for nothing but the grenade launcher. Do not make this mistake. The grenade launcher should not be used to hit spawning enemies, heavy armor, or individuals at long range. Instead, focus on saving your rounds for transport vehicles or groups of enemies. If you can help it, avoid using grenades in close combat. You may end up killing yourself or your teammates, which takes away tickets from your team.
The assault class is also very adept at confusing the enemy. Make use of the smoke grenades or the flashbangs to distract and create havoc. A well-placed smoke grenade may save your entire squad when retreating or attacking a fortified position. Smoke grenades also are very good at distracting the enemy; it keeps them looking in one direction while you apporach from another. Flashbangs are very good at “softening” an enemy target. If you've ever been hit by one, you understand why. The flashbang will blind an enemy so all they see is white on their screen, allowing you to rush in and take them out.
