Midnight Sun
The Chinese have made landfall on American soil, securing the Alaskan Port of Valdez and the oil that flows in from the Alaskan pipeline. The victory was quick, with most American forces preoccupied with MEC forces in the South. The Chinese have begun pushing upriver, skirmishing with the outnumbered but determined American soldiers, intent on making the Chinese pay for every inch of American soil. US Reinforcements have arrived, and the battle for the land of the midnight sun is about to begin.
USMC vs PLA
General Tactics
A darkish map that many players claim resembles FuShe Pass in a way. Although not a “night map”, the map is quite dark compared to the standard maps although you can still see very clearly. Just beware of the shadows since they can be great for hiding in.
With the PLA starting on one side of the river and the US the other, with only two bridges to get across makes the starting strategies for this map important in deciding the winning team. Featuring armour, AA, jets and helicopters this map caters for all players. Infantry can play a very useful and hardhitting role in this map due to the darkness of the map and their excellent camoflague with the bushes and trees littered around the map.
AT mines on bridges and the roads can stop armour in their tracks so use them whenever you can. This map also features the only Muscle Car that appears on all 3 map sizes.

Midnight Sun Secrets & Quirks
Single Player Map Difference
With Armoured Fury comes the addition of different single player versions of the 16player maps. Although they aren’t covered in this guide, Midnight Sun appears not to show any difference between the multiplayer and singleplayer versions.
Left out Items
Third Bridge
Thoughout this guide, you will have noticed that there are only two bridges to get across the river itself. However, there is a third - just out of bounds, due west of the US airfield with roads linking it up to both the airfield and the Radio Tower CP. Maybe it was redzoned to help stop PLA players spawnraping the US airfield.
Missing US Spawnpoint?
Upon playing the map, you will notice that the PLA uncap (River Airbase) has 3 possible spawning locations: 1 on the helipads, 1 with all the vehicles by the sheds and also 1 by their RIBS at the bottom of the cliff.
Whilst the US also have RIBS in the water near their uncap, there is no spawning point by them. So to get to them, you need to actually get a vehicle, drive down to the river and then get into them. You often see the PLA RIBS being used to get across to the Oil Port CP at the start of the round. But the US RIBS never get used because of the lack of a spawnpoint.
