Night Flight
Insurgents have secretly occupied a decommissioned airport in Syria. After receiving their first shipment of supplies by cargo plane, they are in the process of bringing the airport back online. The British have sent in an SAS team in the dead of night to clear the Insurgent threat before the airstrip is fully operational. Taking advantage of their nighttime training, the SAS approach the Insurgent positions undetected.
SAS vs INSURGENTS
General Tactics
A large, open airfield may sound like something of nothing, but being set in the dead of night makes this a map a lot more than a longe range sniping battle.
Featuring the elite SAS and a massive eighteen quadbikes alone (on 64player), makes this map the most transport orientated map in the game. With only 1 piece of armour - that only spawns if the Insurgents control the associated flag, this map is entirely infantry based with countless transport vehicles of all descriptions to get around. This helps to keep the map going at quite a fast pace.
Despite the BF2:SF manual calling this map “Night Fight”, it is actally Night Flight. Not to be confused
This map works very well on both normal BF2 and Infantry Only (IO), with the night conditions making this map perfect for surprise, sneak and stealth attacks. Although IO may provide a bit of running for the SAS to begin with, once they secure a flag or two, the game becomes very fast paced. With the SF goodies and map design, medics are not the dominant force here - the assault class is. This is because of its grapple hook and ease in which it can raid the various flags without taking conventanial routes such as stairs and ladders - which are obviously guarded.
Be sure to check out the Night Flight: For Dummies Guide for this map on the bf2s wiki, which includes how to play the map, camping locations - everthing!

Night Flight Oddities
MECSF or Insurgents?
Reading the BF2:SF manual for Night Flight, it clearly states:
“The SAS must stop MEC Special Forces from bringing an abandoned Syrian airport back to working order in a deadly night battle”
Late change of armies, or a clear mistype?
