Generally used by law enforcement as a non-lethal riot-control agent, tear gas is an aerosol-dispersed chemical compound that causes immediate tearing of the eyes, mild respiratory convulsion, an increase in blood pressure and pulse, as well as the irritation of mucous membranes. Members of the US armed forces and other countries are often exposed to tear gas during initial training to show the importance of properly fitting gas masks. Of course, if your enemies see it coming, they’ll have time to deploy their gas masks and avoid the effects.

Note: Teargas rounds will often bounce of solid objects, this can be used to your advantage when trying to place it on an enemy that is around a corner.
